Dynamic Scene Colourisation (DSC)
The Argus4 provides the end user with a selection of colour palettes that colourise and helps to interpret the thermal image, these allow the user to pin point the hottest parts of the scene. There are 13 different colour palettes which also allow the image to be black or white hot.
The DSC palettes available are:
- Grey scale (White & Black hot)
- Heat Finder Red (White & Black hot)
- Heat Finder Soft Red (White & Black hot)
- Heat Marker Red
- Heat Marker Soft Red
- Green Scale
- Full Colour1
- Full Colour 2
- Full Colour 3
- Half Colour
The colour palettes are selectable by either the remote control or the supplied customer software. Once set, the camera will always start up in the selected colour scheme.

The heat finder colour schemes show the hottest parts of the scene regardless of the dynamic range. The hottest 2% of the scene is shown in red and the next 5% is shown in yellow.
The heat marker is temperature dependent and the gradually red colourisation starts at 150OC through to the maximum of the dynamic range of 800 OC. For the heat marker soft red, yellow starts at 150OC through to red starting at 400OC and onto 800OC.
To help the user to determine which colour modes are being used the training bar indicates the colour schemes.
Unlike other cameras, the colourisation does not change its temperature with a change in the gain modes. You will always know what the temperatures are in any gain mode.
