A common use for an Argus4 is to see whether overheated undercarriages and brakes have cooled down sufficiently. Where in the past fire-fighters had to physically approach the plane and touch the undercarriage, now one glance through the camera will make clear if the temperature has decreased sufficiently, only then can the plane continue to refuel.

In this video, firefighters cautiously approach the plane forming a standby manoeuvre, they are now ready to cool the brakes or put out a fire if required. The thermal camera has a spot temperature feature which allows  firefighters to assess if further action is needed.

Obviously as this is a training video the brakes were not hot, the image you see from the Argus4 would normally show raised temperatures in a real life situation. After an assessment has been made the crew stand down.
